Popular Uses for Green Cardamom Pods

Savory Cooking & Traditional Dishes

  1. Flavoring Curries and Stews: Many Indian and Middle Eastern recipes rely on green cardamom to add a sweet, floral aroma. It balances bold spices and enhances curries, stews, and lentil dishes.
  2. Rice Dishes: Cooks often add whole green cardamom pods to biryanis, pilafs, and spiced rice. The pods slowly release their warm, slightly citrusy flavor as the rice cooks.
