Shawarma Chicken Bowls

Shawarma Rice:


Pickled Onions:

  • red onions, sliced
  • lime juice
  • sugar
  • salt
  • vinegar
  • juice from pepperoncini peppers
  • Water to equal amount of liquids above


  • Rice
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • cucumber, diced
  • pickled onion
  • Feta cheese, crumbled
  • Garlic hummus
  • tzatziki sauce
  • Greek feta dressing
  • Naan Bread




  1.  Grease a 2 qt dish.  Sprinkle in rice, spice, salt, onion, bouillon, and red pepper.  Pour water over.  Drizzle with melted butter.  Cover and bake at 350* for 1 hour.
  2.  Coat chicken with spice and salt.  Grill. Then slice.
  3.  Mix liquids and add onions.  Let sit 8- 12 hours.
  4.  Just before serving, grill naan bread.   Brush with garlic butter.
